TCCS Head of School Search
TCCS Families, Teachers and Staff:
As you all know, at the end of this school year, we will be saying goodbye to Clark Gilbert as our Superintendent. Clark has faithfully served TCCS for the last 10 years, for which we are extremely grateful. TCCS would not be what it is today without his leadership and dedication. We wish him well as he moves to Minnesota and embarks upon a new chapter in life.
To that end, we’re now in need of finding a dynamic individual who can lead TCCS into the future. Therefore, we, the TCCS School Board, have established a Head of School (HOS) Search Committee in order to facilitate that process. The HOS Search Committee is tasked with identifying and hiring the most qualified and experienced leader for our school. This committee is made up of School Board members, as well as Elders of Tri-City Bible Church. Input from current TCCS faculty, staff and families will be incorporated into our search, in order to better align candidates to current and future school needs.
It is our goal to provide timely communication and updates, in order to keep you informed throughout the process. This dedicated webpage has been set up, in order to provide a single repository for HOS updates and happenings; we encourage you to visit the site regularly for updates.
The School Board is also working on an interim leadership plan with the goal of providing leadership of the school, stability, and continuity of our vision of partnering with parents to train up spiritual champions for Jesus Christ. We are working towards communicating and putting the plan in place by the end of June when Clark wraps up his tenure at TCCS.
There is an OPEN School Board / Town Hall meeting scheduled on May 18, 2017. The meeting will provide an open forum for parents to ask questions about the head of school search process and the interim leadership plan. If you have questions related to the Head of School search, this is an opportunity for you to seek answers. The meeting will take place in the Worship Center, starting at 5:30 pm sharp.
Lastly, the most important aspect of this search will be UNITY in prayer. TCCS is a Christ centered school with the goal of raising up spiritual champions for His kingdom. Let us bind together in unified prayer, lifting our request to the Lord, trusting that he will lead us to the ideal candidate.

Frequently Asked Questions: Search Process
The School Board is responsible for selecting the Head of School. To facilitate the search process, the School Board created a Search Committee to conduct the search and, at its conclusion, will recommend a Head of School candidate to the Church Elder Board for review and approval.
The Head of School Search Committee is committed to a transparent and inclusive process in selecting our new Head of School. We will balance our goal of keeping the community informed about the search as well as respecting the confidentiality of the candidates.
Parents, alumni and students as well as teachers and staff will be invited to participate in a school-wide survey, and Advisory Committees, enabling you to speak into the process. In addition to active participation in surveys, focus groups and interviews, we invite all parents and students to pray for God’s wisdom to lead us in selecting our new Head of School.
The Head of Search Committee will provide email updates as well as post all communications on this webpage
The search process will likely take about 5-6 months. We anticipate launching the search a few weeks after we start the new school year with candidate selection occurring in March/April of 2018. Transition to TCCS and our community will likely occur over the summer 2018.
The timing of the search process for a Head of School is important. Unlike some other roles, a Head of School search is most effective when launched in the fall with candidate selection occurring in the first months of the calendar year. Many Heads of School, like teachers and other administrators, are under contract. Those contracts are generally renewed and signed in March.
It is important to take this opportunity to understand and clarify the leadership qualities that are needed in the next leader of TCCS. Many core competencies will likely be unchanged, however the challenges and opportunities facing our next Head of School will be different than these last 10 years. We want to take this opportunity to listen and learn what is needed from our next leader so we can describe it to candidates and more easily identify the right person when they engage with us in the interview process.
